Read Before you Book!

Our Northern Adventure Tours do not advertise luxury, do not expect it! These Tours are to the far reaches of the earth, so expect facilities that reflect this!

Adventure Tours are for qualified applicants ONLY.

How do you Qualify?

Prudhoe Bay and Inuvik Bound Riders:

Do you expect luxurious accommodations? the correct answer is NO

Do you ride dirt, or have you taken a dirt riding course? the correct answer is YES.

Do you deal with adversity well? the correct answer is YES

Do you expect meals to be included on the road during your tour? the correct answer is NO.

Are you a whiner? the correct answer is NO.

Do you love Adventure? the correct answer in YES.

Do you cry over spilled milk? the correct answer is NO.

Do you laugh when things don't go as planned? the correct answer is YES.

Dirt Highway Riding is Dangerous:

Rocks are thrown from oncoming traffic and are hazardous. Slow down, pull over, and shield yourself behind your windscreen.

Roads become muddy and slippery due to rain. Dirt riding experience is a must during these occasions. Get on the pegs, look forward, and keep on the gas! Momentum is your friend!

Bring proper protective riding equipment!
(More about gear later on this page)

Prepare:

Earplugs (we provide these on the trips too) for sleeping (walls are thin at some hotels) and for ear protection during riding.

Protective Riding Gear: Waterproof with protective padding is the best. We recommend Aerostich Riding Gear (aerostich.com)

Other Riding Gear:

Water Proof: Riding Suit/Rain Suit
Gloves (Bring at least 2 Pair or more!! One for comfort, One for Downpoor Rain: Snow Skiing Gloves Work Great!
Boots/Waterproof Socks.(We recommend Sealskinz Waterproof Socks!!)
Stout Riding Boots: Waterproof and comfortable for hiking are best.
Comfortable after-riding footwear.
Fleece Layers for warmth during riding. Be ready to layer up and layer down!
Sunglasses
Full-faced Helmet: Motocross Helmets are fine, but tend to grab the wind more than regular street helmets. Modular Helmets are fine.
One Week Worth of Clean Clothes! Laundry Facilities are available at about 5-Day Intervals.

Dirt Riding School: We recommend RawHyde Adventure Camp

Get Dirt Riding Experience before you participate in this trip!!

Be in good PHYSICAL and MENTAL CONDITION! There tours can be arduous. Physical Exercise before the trip will make you sharper during it! Your enjoyment-factor depends on it!

Prudhoe Bay Tours:

To fly into and out of Prudhoe Bay: Alaska Airlines and Frontier Flying Service both fly in and out of Prudhoe Bay. Please contact them directly to arrange your flights, should you be participating in just one stage of the ride.

Oilfield/Arctic Ocean Tour: If you want to participate in this tour, it is $37, and you must contact them directly: Arctic Caribou Inn at: (877) 659-2368 (toll free) (907) 659-2368 MAKE SURE TO CONTACT US BEFORE YOU BOOK THIS TOUR, TO MAKE SURE IT WORKS WITH OUR TOUR SCHEDULE!! - You may also "Wing it" and have us arrange that tour for you while we are on the road.

Inuvik/Dawson City Tours:

Due to Adverse Weather and Road Conditions:

The Dempster Highway is most adventurous road we ride!

There is NO GUARANTEE that we will make it to Inuvik!
During intense rainfall, the Dempster Highway can turn to greasy muck, making it too dangerous to travel on two wheels. We have designed a tour which offers the flexiblility to make up time due to this possible delay. We highly recommend that you do not make return travel plans the day after the end of the scheduled tour...give yourself at least a day grace period!!

To All Canadians!! You must pay a 6% G S Tax on the value of the rented motorcycle you are bringing into Canada. We only have one motorcycle that qualifies for this, and we will rent it on a first come/first serve basis.

To All Americans!! HAVE YOUR PASSPORT READY to cross the border! If you do not, please bring a photo ID and copy of Birth Certificate with you. At the time of this writing, only a Photo ID was needed....but, as you know ...things change!

The use of American $$ is fine in Canada. Credit Cards work fine too!! No need to exchange currency for this trip. Plan for Gas to be more expensive in Canada than Alaska. (The beer is stronger, though)

All of our motorcycles have the proper paperwork to cross the border.
