The old Chatanika Dredge. Abandoned and almost forgotten, this old dinosaur of gold rush past is fascinating to explore.
The group gears up to head out to Central on the Steese Highway.
Here is a good example of the exploratory riding we do on some of the mining roads in the Central area. The landscape stretches off into the distance in all directions. This is the real Alaska!

Circle Hotsprings was closed during this ride. Though, the caretaker tries to maintain the welcoming atmosphere that it was once known for.
Secret: cold beer will buy you a passage into these hotsprings...just ignore the cannon, the "no trespassing" sign and the "kill all the lawyers and the poor" written at the bottom of the pool.
