We took toll exress-ways from time to time.
The meals were legendary. Multiple-course dinners featuring all sorts of unknown, delicious colors and textures.
The flowers peak for only a week, and we were lucky, as the trees blossomed all around us, the entire time.
Nina and Hirata are kareoke legends.
Did I mention the roads were twisty?
Wow!!
After those twisties, a small nap was in order...
Another great hotsprings resort town in the mountains of Kyushu.
This gem of a motorcycle museum was in the small town of Yufuin on Kyushu. It had any kind of motorcycle you like, plus, my favorite, an original Steve McQueen side car!
The forest roads were exciting: Very narrow curvy bits through the mountains.

We crossed over from the island of Kyushu to Shikoku by way of a short ferry ride.
Mystic ocean scene from a small fishing town we stayed in on Shikoku. -Talk about fresh sea-food!
Superb views from the top of Shikoku Island. The local BMW Flat Twin Club members showed us this spectacular road.
Winding roads criss-cross Shikoku. At times, you wonder how long it would take to ride just one section of this relatively small island!
Catherine and Mrs. Itou hold it together across the 800 year old Kazuki-Bashi.
Rest stop on the last day...and the flowers were in full swing!
Crossing back over to the island of Honshu, by way of ultra-modern suspension bridge.
