Alaska Peninsula

The Alaska Peninsula is one of the world's premier hunting and fishing areas. This remote, 500-mile long strip of land is a land of superlatives. It is home to the world's largest population of Brown Bears, the world's largest Moose, the largest Caribou, the largest concentration of migratory geese as well as the world's largest run of salmon.

We have the only Eco-tour license in the Becharof Wildlife Refuge. If you like to photograph wild animals, watch birds, look for fossils, beach comb, fly fish, raft remote rivers, or take day hikes through an absolutely pristine environment, then this place is for you. We literally watch wildlife from the breakfast table!

Grizzly Skins of Alaska is not a high volume, high dollar luxury lodge. Instead you will be a guest at our family's 40 acre wilderness homestead within Becherof National Wildlife Refuge and adjoining Katmai National Park. The scenery is spectacular and the terrain varies from low rolling tundra to towering, snow covered volcanoes. Accommodation, while not luxurious, is comfortable enough for year around use by our family. There are separate bunk houses for guests with hot showers.

With no more than four guests at a time you will receive personal attention as well as a varied daily agenda.

We offer a unique opportunity to photograph bears fishing.
Wolves can be seen from the lodges' breakfast table!
The bears show us how it is done without the aid of graphite.
We may access a secluded beach where a number of walruses congregate every year...
Game is constantly on the move in the Becherof Wildlife Refuge.
