Before you Rent
Tours
We offer exceptional tours which focus on different areas of the state,
for different comfort levels. All tours include airport pick-up/drop-off,
motorcycle rental, guide, support vehicle, detailed itinerary/maps packet
and a high guest-to-staff ratio, insuring the best personal service possible.
Along the way, our long time Alaskan guides will show you the best of
what Alaska has to offer!
Tour Size
6- 10 riders. We have a large staff/guest ratio. This way, your adventure
is personalized and safety is maximized. We ride roads seldom traveled,
with help being hours away and usually out of cell phone range. My staff
is trained in back-country first aid and motorcycle maintenance. The staff
carry satellite phones for emergency support. The support truck or van
is at your service. They have plenty of space for your luggage and for
those who wish to take a break from the elements. They also pull a trailer
with an extra motorcycle.
Riding
Experience
Please be familiar with the motorcycle of your choice. For those wishing
to join one of the adventure tours, dirt riding experience is a must.
Some of the dirt highways can be challenging due to weather conditions.
If you do not have motocross
racing, dualsport racing or extensive off-road experience, I highly recommend
the following off-road school:
RawHyde
Adventure Camp
You may book this
Camp directly, or through us!
Gear
Weather is a big factor in motorcycle touring in Alaska. Please be prepared,
as the weather can spoil or punish you. The temperature ranges from 45
to 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Bring riding gear that is warm and waterproof
(a riding suit with pads is best). We have been very happy with the Darien
riding suit from Aerostich. Some things to keep in mind for packing
are rain gear, rain-proof gloves, hiking shoes, bug spray, towel and swimsuit,
camera, a full-faced helmet and stout waterproof riding boots. We suggest
SealSkinz waterproof socks. We have found that while on the road that
it works best to have one bag with most of your gear and one smaller bag
to be taken to your room nightly, the smaller bag can be hauled on your
bike or in our support vehicle. Should you run out of clothes, laundry
facilities are available while on the trail.
Own
Motorcycle
We encourage riders to join our tours with their own motorcycles.
Two-Up
We invite couples to come up and join a tour. We discount the passenger
for any tour. Don·t forget! The support vehicle is always there
in case you want to take a break from the elements!
We encourage non-riding spouses and special
friends to join our trips. They can relax and enjoy the comfort of our
support truck or van.
Payment
We require a $500 deposit on rentals and $1,000 on all tours. All deposits
are non-refundable, but are transferable to another party. The balance
for all rentals and tours is due 60 days before start date. We accept
personal checks, Visa, Mastercard and money orders. We do offer an optional
Loss Damage Waiver insurance
for your rental.
